Poet Lisa Jayne (Map 71) has assembled a spoken word programme to take place deep in the dungeon-like Caponier of the fort, featuring solo performances from the following:

Puppet Diane di Prima – Future Zen – Diane di Prima is one of the few female writers to have been acknowledged as an integral member of the Beat Generation. We at Future Zen explore the fabric of reality by channelling characters who have inspired our seeking in puppet form. 

Dolly Turing may be a poet, transformation instigator, collection of entities, process, git wizard, joke. She has read poems at the Sussex Poetry Festival, Festival 23, Hi Zero and as part of Veer to Athens. She creates other mischief with Four Manatees, Thee Hairee Kuntz, Twelve Oxen, 3.EYE.SPACE, BANG! on Totally Radio, and Outside.Inroads. She is interviewing people on personal apocalypse/illumination (23 so far).

Adam J Wimbush blends old and new technologies, manipulating images, sounds and words into an esoteric language. His contributions to Brighton's burgeoning poetry scene include hosting Vapour Vox, a monthly psychedelic showcase of avant-garde literature and sonic art. Verity Spott is a poet and musician whose manifestos are attempts at destabilising the language of law, prescription & assumed “natural” order; a narrative of conscious terror, police violence, gender dysphoria & magical decay. Verity is currently working on a long poem aimed at entirely dismantling the private mental health sector.

Timothy Thornton is a musician and writer, interested in collaboration, signalling, and gesture. He recently used all three, and some small lamps, in the live score for PLANES at Battersea Arts Centre, and in October will be in Penguin Modern Poets 2: Controlled Explosions.

Lisa Jayne is an artist who aims to bring discipline to chaos and chaos to discipline via words, performance, pictures and erm, life. She performs solo, sometimes within large groups – the improv unit Ringlock for example – and has adventures with percussive sound. Lisa is also one half of the band Map 71.
